The world is in chaos. Have you noticed? Politics are swinging right, and not just in what used to be the largest democracy in the world. It’s happening everywhere, and as writers, we’re seeing the results all over the place.

Where, you ask?

When you go to create an Amazon ad for your book, there’s an area where you can’t use the world lesbian. It’s an identity being banned via the shunning of a word. As a lesbian, I have a problem with this. LGBTQ books are being shadow banned. That means they’re available, but really hard to find. They’re being overshadowed in my cases by AI books taking up space that used to be there for real human writers. Income from the Big A has decreased for writers by a minimum of at least 30%. When you’re not part of the mainstream, that’s a serious hit.

And we all know there are entire sections of society that would happily silence our stories altogether.

And that’s why we’re doing something about it. No more waiting for someone to do something. Turns out, it’s us. And you, if you’re ready for change.

Queer the Shelves Infinite is a reading subscription service and ebook sales site. Run by and for the LGBTQ community, it will be a safe place for our stories. Authors will get a better percentage than they have elsewhere and there won’t be any exclusivity clause. Readers will find the books they want without having to wade through AI slop or spend hours searching for what they want. And we’ll be donating 65% of our profits back to the LGBTQ community.
