Grateful.

What to say?

I’m living a life I never dreamed possible when I was a child born to a teenage parent who struggled to get food on the table.

Today, I’m writing this from Bangkok Airport as we wait for our flight to Koh Samui. Three days in Bangkok allowed us to get our feet under us after the 32 hour trip, where we had to land in Istanbul when Iran closed its airspace.

I am lucky to wake up to my wife every day. She wraps me in a tight hug and says good morning, every day. Every day, a zillion times a day, she tells me she loves me. We write together, work together, and deal with all of life’s little travails side by side.

And we adventure together. She takes my anxiety about traveling in stride, letting us get to the airport too early every time so I don’t freak out. She just laughs when I pack a ton of snacks in my carry-on that I don’t eat. And she’s happy to explore and do whatever I want when we’re adventuring.

This is a life I couldn’t fathom as a child, and as an adult, I can’t express how lucky I feel.
