Tidal waves of emotion

Yes. Yes I am.

And that, my friends, is disastrous in itself. Because you can only do so much when it comes to releasing a book. You do the marketing. You handle the Amazon ads and keywords. You put it on every frigging social media platform. You tell friends and family. You research every nook and cranny of the rabbit hole on how to market a book. You relate it to other books written by other authors far more wildly successful than you and hope that maybe a smidgeon of what they have will dust its way onto your pages…

But in the end, all you can do is close your eyes, deep breathe, and pray to who and whatever may be listening that it doesn’t fall into the void, never to be ingested by any reader in the universe. (This is the case with every book I write, of course. It’s the curse of the writer, I think: you have to write because it’s part of you, but you also want people to read what you’ve written.)

This book has a HUGE piece of my heart. It was a deep, intense, personal labor of love. I inhabited the world of ancient Greece as closely as I could and I adored it. And maybe that’s why I so want readers to find it; this is a story worth knowing.

Medea is strong. She’s fire and determination and steel. She’s flawed. She lives in a time of gods, monsters, and politics that left little room for women to be what Medea was. She’s not so different from us, really…

Medea is available for pre-order now, and I’m happy to sell direct if you’d like a signed copy. And if you want to tell a friend or two and bring the journey to them as well…we can sail these waters together.

Released February 1st.

Available for pre-order now. If you’d like a signed paperback copy ahead of release day, give me a shout.

This is not the story of the woman you think you know. You know only the tales told through the ages. No, this is the story of a dangerous woman fighting for her freedom in a world dominated by cruel gods and ego-driven men…

In the house of King Aeetes on the shores of the Black Sea, Medea plays with gods in the forest as visions of a dark future haunt her. Descendant of Helios and daughter of sea nymph Idyia, Medea holds the kind of power meant for the heroes of the epics, the heroes who have yet to arrive in the world. But as a woman, her place is decided by the men around her. Until Jason and his Argonauts arrive, bringing with them the winds of change and the goddess’s voice ringing out of Medea’s lips.

Sacrifices. Politics wrapped in layers of deceit, blood, and ego. Gods with their own agendas not meant for mortal flesh. Magic. Monsters. Love.

Who will Medea become in her desperate search for freedom?
