Today’s word of the day is Confabulate.

Meaning: to chat informally.

It’s a perfect word for today. Mostly because I don’t have any desire to confabulate with anyone except my wife. Not my best friend, not anyone. Not on the phone, not on zoom, not on FB. It wasn’t like I was a great conversationalist to begin with, but after a year of lockdown…words fail me.

And more than that right now, I’m dealing with both tar and health stuff. Those are dragging me down, and without my wife I can’t fathom where I’d be right now. I feel guilty that I’m flat out, that I’m silent for hours, that I can’t say on any given day that I’m feeling great. I feel bad for not responding to emails. But I simply don’t have the wherewithal to be a person right now.
