Women’s Writing Retreats
Bambu Resort, October 1st–8th, 2016. Malaga, Spain
Over the Rainbow, November 14th-18th, 2016.
Cardigan Bay, Wales
One of the most difficult parts of writing is finding the time to write. And, once you’ve got your story down, it can be hard to find someone to give you honest feedback.
Inspiration
Let your creativity run free at these writing retreats. Join a small group of women writers for a week of writing under the Spanish sun. Over the course of the week, we’ll have morning workshops each day focusing on elements of craft, and during the day you can do your own writing. In the afternoon we’ll reconvene to discuss what you wrote, talk about questions and provide guidance for the next step. In the evenings, gather to chat with other writers on the patio, or head into the nearby town for tapas and wine.
The workshop will be led by Victoria Villasenor, Director of Global Words Literary Consultancy. With nearly a decade of editorial and writing experience, she can help you develop your work, whether you’re just starting out or you’ve already been published. You’ll receive personal, one to one critiques of your work as well. This retreat is open to anyone who wants to write prose, whether that be fiction, non-fiction, memoir, or something else completely! (Sadly, the retreat isn’t geared toward poets.)
The Package
The Retreat Packages include:
- Accommodation in a gorgeous individual room
- Breakfast and a light lunch each day
- Workshops and critiques
- One-to-one sessions offering personalized writing feedback
And, if your partner wants to come but isn’t a writer, they’re welcome to join you for a nominal supplement. There’s plenty for them to do—shopping and tavernas in the local towns, the beach not far away, or hiking in the beautiful Adalucian mountains, or a visit to the local castle. Or they can just relax by the pool!
Writers sharing a room with other writers will pay a discounted price—so bring a fellow scribe!
Get inspired. Get writing.
This week of workshops and tutorials will be creative and special, and the knowledge and support you gain will last for years to come. Not to mention the friendships you’ll develop with other writers!
To get the most out of the week, you will be encouraged to share your writing with the rest of the group in evening readings and to offer and receive feedback with your fellow students. This way, you get a well-rounded response to your work from people who understand what it is to be working through a piece of writing.
